Number Row Lesson
Reaching the number row
The number keys (1-0) sit one row above the top letter row, and each finger reaches to the number in its own column:
| Finger | Number |
|---|---|
| Left pinky | 1 |
| Left ring | 2 |
| Left middle | 3 |
| Left index | 4, 5 |
| Right index | 6, 7 |
| Right middle | 8 |
| Right ring | 9 |
| Right pinky | 0 |
Practice tip
Numbers are used less often than letters in everyday writing, so it can take a bit longer to build muscle memory for them. Practicing with real-world examples like phone numbers, dates, or invoice totals helps the habit stick.
