Recipe Practice
Why is recipe text different?
A recipe brings together measurement units (cups, tsp, g), a degree sign, and numbered headings like “Step 1” and “Step 2” all in one piece of text — a different rhythm than the other lessons.
- Reinforce the habit of typing a unit abbreviation right after a number, sometimes with a space and sometimes without (like “250g”).
- The degree sign (°) sits directly against the number with no space; make that distinction deliberately.
How should you practice?
- Automate the switch to a capital letter right after numbered headings like “Step 1:” and “Step 2:”.
- Treat time ranges (25-30 minutes) as a single unit as you type them.
- Focus on flowing smoothly between comma-separated items in an ingredient list.
