Short Sentences
From words to sentences
A sentence starts with a capital letter, ends with a full stop, and has single spaces between its words. Typing short sentences lets you practise all three habits at once: the Shift key at the start, a steady rhythm in the middle and a clean full stop at the end.
How to practice
- Use the Shift key on the opposite side to the letter you are capitalising.
- Think one word ahead, so your fingers never wait for your eyes.
- End every sentence with a full stop and a single space before the next one.
Common mistake
Typing two spaces after a full stop, an old typewriter habit. Modern text needs only one.
