Typing certificate — frequently asked questions
Is the typing certificate free?
Yes. It is free, needs no account and is generated in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
Is it an official qualification?
No. It records the result of an unsupervised practice test. Employers and schools that need proof of speed usually ask for a supervised test, but many accept a certificate like this as a first indication.
How is the speed measured?
WPM is the number of correctly typed characters divided by five, per minute. Accuracy is correct keystrokes over all keystrokes. The certificate uses the result you pick from the tests finished on this device.
Where is my name stored?
Only in your browser while you type it. It is printed on the certificate and never sent to a server.
