How the Daily Challenge works
- Sign in with your free account and pick your language. Today's words are the same for every player in that language and change at midnight UTC.
- Start typing to begin the 60-second clock. Press space after each word. Your score is your net words per minute.
- Post your score to today's leaderboard under your username. Play every day to grow your streak and earn Daily Challenge badges.
Tips for a better score
- Warm up with a normal typing test first — the Daily Challenge is one minute of focus.
- Don't chase every typo: a corrected word still counts as a mistake, so keep a steady rhythm instead of rushing.
- You can replay to practise, then post the run you are proudest of — you can post once per day and language.
Daily Challenge — questions and answers
Do I need an account?
Yes. The Daily Challenge is for players with a free account — just a username and a password, no email address. It keeps the leaderboard fair (one score per player, language and day) and lets us award streak badges. Everything else on TypeWPM works without an account.
When does the challenge change?
At midnight UTC, for everybody at the same moment. The countdown above the game shows the time left.
Is it fair for everyone?
Yes. The words come from a formula based on the date and the language, so every player in a language gets exactly the same text. Scores are net WPM: only correctly typed words count.
