Czech Typing Test
Measure how fast you type in Czech. The test draws from a curated pool of everyday Czech vocabulary, so you practise the words you actually use.
This Czech typing test works exactly like the main typing speed test, but the word pool is Czech: common verbs, nouns, connectors and everyday vocabulary, all drawn at random so no two runs are the same. Your score is reported in WPM (words per minute) and accuracy, calculated the same way across every language so results stay comparable.
Czech adds fifteen letters English keyboards don't have — á, č, ď, é, ě, í, ň, ó, ř, š, ť, ú, ů, ý and ž. On a Czech keyboard you reach them on the number row or with the dead keys for háček and čárka, and practising them in real words is the fastest way to make that movement automatic. Pick a time mode from 15 seconds to 10 minutes, or switch to word mode, and start typing — there's no account and no ads.
Czech typing test — frequently asked questions
How is the Czech typing test scored?
It counts every correct character you type, divides by five for an average word length, then divides by the minutes elapsed to give your WPM. Accuracy is correct keystrokes over total keystrokes. The formula is identical for every language, so your Czech score and your English score mean the same thing.
Do I need a Czech keyboard layout?
No, but it helps. The Czech layout is QWERTZ, with the accented letters on the number row and dead keys for háček and čárka. You can also take the test on a US layout; the test still runs, but you'll need your system's input method to produce the Czech letters.
What is a good typing speed in Czech?
About 40 WPM is average for an adult typing in their own language. 60–70 WPM is fast and 90+ WPM is professional level. Czech words are a little longer than English ones on average, so raw WPM can land slightly lower for the same effort.
Is the Czech typing test free?
Yes, completely. No account, no email, no ads. Your best score is saved in your own browser, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to submit to the leaderboard.
