Words flow in automatically. Press space to finish a word.

This Romanian typing test works exactly like the main typing speed test, but the word pool is Romanian: common verbs, nouns, connectors and everyday vocabulary, all drawn at random so no two runs are the same. Your score is reported in WPM (words per minute) and accuracy, calculated the same way across every language so results stay comparable.

Romanian adds five letters English keyboards don't have — ă, â, î, ș and ț. On a standard Romanian keyboard they sit as their own keys, and practising them in real words is the fastest way to make that reach automatic. Pick a time mode from 15 seconds to 10 minutes, or switch to word mode, and start typing — there's no account and no ads.

Romanian typing test — frequently asked questions

How is the Romanian typing test scored?

It counts every correct character you type, divides by five for an average word length, then divides by the minutes elapsed to give your WPM. Accuracy is correct keystrokes over total keystrokes. The formula is identical for every language, so your Romanian score and your English score mean the same thing.

Do I need a Romanian keyboard layout?

No, but it helps. The standard Romanian layout is QWERTY with ă, â, î, ș and ț as their own keys. You can also take the test on a US layout; the test still runs, but you'll need your system's input method to produce the Romanian letters.

What is a good typing speed in Romanian?

About 40 WPM is average for an adult typing in their own language. 60–70 WPM is fast and 90+ WPM is professional level. Romanian words are a little longer than English ones on average, so raw WPM can land slightly lower for the same effort.

Is the Romanian typing test free?

Yes, completely. No account, no email, no ads. Your best score is saved in your own browser, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to submit to the leaderboard.
